First days

Today was my training at Awfully Chocolate(which I'll rather call it AC in short :)).
It started at 11am all the way to 11pm.
It was like a training session and at the same time, a tryout shift for us!
Our training lasted till around 3pm or so, and after that we had like 8 hours of work.

During our training, we were briefed on the different products AC has, and the prices,
how to arrange it and stuffs. :)
It was kind of boring during the training tho, we had to like seat there and see the
paper full of words, and hear our manager explain one by one.
My eyes were like staring at the paper and words, and almost going to close anytime.
But unfortunately, I was sitting like directly infront of the manager, so it's kind of stressful at first.
But the manager, Donna, was really friendly :) Very glad.
And best part of training was the part whereby we got to try almost all products of AC!!!

Picture speaks a thousand words:
And not just these, there's additional 6" Rum & Cherry whole cake and
6" Banana Chocolate whole cake. #iknowyouarejealousHAHAHA

Amazing isn't it?
But this like only happens during training, which is like only for today.
I know, I know.. in your mind you're like going #chey instead of being jealous already :(

ok anyways,
after that chocolatey 'feast', we cleared the tables and our 'shift' for the day started :)
We learnt how to do the decoration/icing for the cake first.
Then we moved on to learning the different types of drinks, latte, cappuccino etc.

The drinks part is kind of tough, really.
There's like more than 10 types of coffee drinks so it's a different recipe for
each and every one. Really mind-boggling especially for first-timers!
But we focused and managed to learn quite a few, but still got to look at the recipe tho. :))

I'm looking forward to my first day, actual first day of work, on the 3rd of Sept :)

Spend, spend it right.

Nights ago, I visited ASOS.com and found some great buys in the 'Sales' section.
I'm kind of a 'digger' when it comes to shopping. :)
I love to dig for good deals especially in the Sales corner.
No doubt it's outdated styles but with a touch of creativeness or imaginations,
you can work old styles to wonders. I believe that.

I love visiting the flea markets, squatting down and lugging clothes out of the suitcase which
writes: "1 for $2, 3 for $5" or "1 for $6, 2 for $10".
You'll be amazed by what you can find in the stash of clothes that people don't want anymore.

Same goes for online shopping.
Each time I go into a online store, the first tab I lookout for is 'SALES'.
I know, it might sound really stingy of me, unable to afford new collection clothes or what more.
But so what? I love looking in the 'SALES' section and that makes me, me. haha!

So here is what I bought in ASOS.com for below SGD$30. :)

ASOS Cage Effect Cuff With Screw Detail£15.00

NOW £4.50

ASOS PETITE Exclusive Floral Print Culottes

£15.00NOW £6.00

ASOS '70s Straw Floppy Hat

£20.00NOW £6.00

oh so lucky.

OK, I'm not lucky as in striking lottery or whatsoever, but in terms of number at least. :)
I often bump into the timing 11:11, regardless of morning 11:11am or night time 11:11pm.
And sometimes I will bump into that timing on both times of the same day. Lucky, I am.

And just now I went to my blog, I spotted my 'Page views', it was 888!
In Chinese tradition, the number '8' is considered lucky, it's read as 'fa', means prosper.

My hectic schedule.

This morning I went with Koie for interview at Awfully Chocolate.
Woke up at 6.20am, reached AMK Mrt at 730am.
Took train to dakota station and then cabbed down to the office situated at Joo Chiat Rd.
It wasn't easy to find the office, neither was it easy to get a cab.

We reached the office at 8.40am, supposedly have to reach at 8.30am but a tad late, it's fine.
When we arrived there was approximately 15 people gathered, some with resume on their hands.
But for those applying to work part-time, we just came as we are, without resume. haha!

So, we were called in for a mass interview, 5 part timers, 5 full timers.
When we were all seated, the boss/manager(I don't know which position is he),
said that they're looking for people with lots of personality.
And I was like, oh okay. Do I have a personality that attracts them?
And I went, shucks! :(

There were 2 rounds to the interview.
First round, we were asked to introduce ourselves.
It was alright during this round.
But the next round was really unexpected, for what we were supposed to do.

We were given 1 minute to think of a joke to make everyone in the room laugh.
And we were told that personal experiences seldom make people laugh, it's only to yourself.
They asked us to do this so that at times if we're working, we can cheer customers up.
Then I thought to myself, everytime I go to Awfully Choc, it's the cakes which cheers me up,
ain't the staffs. LOL
Nevertheless, one by one told their joke, and when it's my turn, I told a joke about
what my friend experience(yeah, it's personal experience too, but I really couldn't think much!)..
And after I told the joke, I requested to say another one to make up for the first.
And I sang Nobody by the Wonder Girls, as how my little niece sang it.
Well, it was kinda embarrassing but if they're looking for personality, I'll just let go of my
nervousness and shyness and just do it. :)

After the 2 rounds ended, we were told that they'll decide on who to shortlist and will
call us if we got the job. When me and Koie walked out of the office, I told her that we
screwed the interview, we were so nervous, we definitely wouldn't get the job.
Another reason why I think that way it's because they said that everytime there's interview(which is
held every Monday at their office), out of 9 or 10 interviewees, they will choose only 2 to 3.
This really made me and Koie mood go all the way down.

Our interview ended around 9.30am, then we cabbed back to school as we still had lessons.
Just when I didn't expect it, I received a phone call around 2+, 3pm.
It was a number that I never seen before. I thought it was a prank by my friends or something.
But I picked up in the end, and guess what?? It was a call from Awfully Chocolate! OMFG!!!

I was shortlisted and they asked me to go down for training next Monday. AWESOME!
yay!!! :) But unfortunately, Koie didn't get the call. But she'll be trying for the ice cream shop
just few shops away from Awfully Chocolate, called Ice-Cream Chefs. :)
Hopefully she'll get the job there! :) I know she'll definitely get it! :)

So, as for my current job, Fashion Advisor at Rosebullet, I'll be quitting this end of August.
I'll miss everybody that I've worked with, but I am glad to leave Isetan.

This week is going to be a very hectic one. Projects, birthday outings and training. *sigh*
I have to finish all my projects by tomorrow night latest. And I have 2 reports, and 1 program to do.
I'm so tired now!

Wednesday I'm going for my nail appointment for my birthday, and to get my birthday clothes.
Thursday I'm gg to celebrate my birthday with my secondary school friends.
Friday I have reservation at Phuture to celebrate my birthday with my Polytechnic friends.
Saturday, dinner with bf.
Sunday, lunch/dinner with my family.
Monday, training at Awfully Chocolate.

And next week I have 2 common tests.
I'm feeling the stress now! Gimme more time please! Stop the clock!
