I'm back with a new DIY, and it's a food DIY again :)
This time I did a Chocolate Banana Cake for my Sister's birthday!!!
Click 'Read More'.
What you'll need:
- Betty Crocker Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
- 3 Eggs
- 2 Medium-Sized bananas
- 1/2 block of butter (1/2 of that for icing and 14g of that for Choc Fudge frosting.)
- 150g of icing sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 180ml Heavy whipping cream
- 230g Semi-Sweet Choc Chips (I used Hershey's)
- Medium mixing bowl (I used a pot :) )
- Whisk or hand mixer
- Piping bag
Steps:
Step 1:
- Pour the cake mixture into the mixing bowl, add in the eggs, oil and water.
- Mix it well!
Step 2:
- Mash the bananas and mix it into the batter.
Step 3:
- Pour the batter into the baking pan and put it into the oven to bake at 180 Degrees Celsius
for 25-30mins. Check on it occasionally.
Step 4:
- While waiting for the cake to be done, do the chocolate fudge frosting. :)
- Heat the whipping cream and butter in a small pot. Pour the choc chips into a wide bowl.
Step 5:
- Once the cream & butter is heated and semi-boiled, immediately pour it over the choc chips.
- Mix it well.
Step 6: (Do not skip this step!)
- Now's the time for you to relax!
- Let the cake and choc fudge to cool for about 30-40mins.
- I recommend putting the cake into the fridge to cool down so it'll harden.
Step 7:
- While the cake & choc fudge is cooling down, do the icing.
- Mix the icing sugar, butter, milk & vanilla extract together.
- Mix it thoroughly until no sugar can be seen or felt.
- This icing mixture will turn out creamy white, add coloring if you want!
Step 8:
- Once the cake and choc fudge has cooled, spread the fudge evenly (or messily!) over the cake.
- Spread it thick or thin, whatever you like! :)
Step 9:
- Put the cake back into the fridge again for another 15mins or until the fudge slightly hardens.
Step 10:
- Once harden, take the cake out and immediately draw or write whatever you want using the icing.
- Pop it back into the fridge to harden the icing n fudge.
- After 30mins, it's ready to be eaten!!!
Hope you enjoyed!
xoxo, D.
