DIY #3 : Rainbow Cupcakes

Hey there! It's been long since I last blogged. gosh!

Past week I did a DIY.. and it's a FOOD DIY!!! :)
a very yummy one too!

Tadah!!

Steps after the break!!!

What you'll need (makes approximately 45-48 cupcakes):

- A large mixing bowl
- 500g of Self-Raising flour
- 500g of Sugar (Caster sugar would be best.)
- 500g of Butter
- 8 Eggs
- 12 tablespoons of Milk
- Food Coloring (Red, Green, Yellow & Blue)
- Muffin Cups
- Silver Dragees (Optional, as decorations)

Step 1:
Defrost the butter till it softens. Then put both blocks of butter & sugar into the mixing bowl.
Use a whisk, or hand mixer, to mix both ingredients together till it becomes fluffy and creamy.

Step 2:
Once mixed till fluffy & creamy, add in the eggs one by one. Stir the mixture and the egg in each intervals.

Step 3:
Once all eggs are mixed into the mixture then add in the milk, 1 spoon by 1 spoon, then mix in intervals.

Step 4:
Now the mixture is ready. Divide it into 6 bowls.

Step 5:
Add in the food coloring.
Bowl 1 - 1 cap of red.
Bowl 2 - 1/2 cap of red & 1/2 cap of yellow.
Bowl 3 - 1 cap of yellow.
Bowl 4 - 1 cap of green.
Bowl 5 - 1 cap of blue.
Bowl 6 - 1/2 cap of blue & 1/2 cap of red.

Mix the colors in!!!

Step 6:
Once colors are mixed in well, put the mixtures into piping bags.

Step 7:
Put the colors into the muffin cup layer by layer according to this order:
Purple > Blue > Green > Yellow > Orange > Red.

* Do not put too full! Just occupy half the cup.. because when heated, it'll rise up. *

You can mix it together to get 'tie-dyed' rainbow muffins!

Step 8:
Pop it into the oven at approximately 175 to 180 Degree Celsius for 10 to 15mins.

* Always keep a look out, you won't want to eat burnt muffin! *

Step 9:
When it's done, leave it to cool then decorate it or just munch away!!!!

ENJOY!!!!!!

xoxo, D.
