A designer a day, keeps the blues away. #2

Designer #2

Chanel

Taken from Wikipedia:
Gabrielle Bonheur "CocoChanel (19 August 1883 – 10 January 1971)[1] was a pioneering French fashion designer whose modernist thought, menswear-inspired fashions, and pursuit of expensive simplicity made her an important figure in 20th-century fashion. She was the founder of one of the most famous fashion brands, Chanel. Her extraordinary influence on fashion was such that she was the only person in the couturier field to be named on Time 100: The Most Important People of the Century.[2]
5 things I like about this designer:
1) She's classy, graceful, elegant and full of poise!2) Her designs are so classic and a little vintage-y but never goes out of trend.3) Her over-growing love for the fashion industry is very inspiring.4) She has an amazing colony of designers(talk about Karl Lagerfeld - Chief Designer for Chanel since 1983!) under her hands, which makes her brand and name live forever!5) 'Super' woman! :)
Some designs of her's I love the most:

Haha! the last two is not counted. It's illustration of delicious goodies with Chanel packaging!
But how nice, isn't it? :)

How she inspires me as a designer:
Even at age 87, she still takes her work seriously and looks over her preparation for Spring Collection 1971. Her never-ending love for fashion makes me very inspired to pursue my dreams and do not be afraid to step out into the big, competitive fashion world. A brand founded in 1909, it is still much alive and will forever be the most sought for high-end luxury brand in many people's eyes. She's a definite Super Woman!
